Exploring Creativity
Paper Craft
It's hard to describe how being around unbridled creativity makes you feel as an adult. But even children can suffer from low self confidence in their own abilities to create. I can spot a child who doesn't want to take part in an art sessions the minute I walk into a room. My job is to get them to have fun and forget that they felt negatively about being there in the first place.
Children don't expect HUMOUR from adults, especially in a teaching environment. The minute you introduce humour in a safe, friendly wat you can win over a group of kids who might otherwise be "over it".
My experience has included working with children from the following groups in schools, after school clubs, family days and other one off events.
* Children living in marginalized and disadvantaged communites
* Autism (ASC) support
* Speech, language and communication needs
* Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
* Specific learning difficulties
*Physical disabilities
* Social and emotional mental health needs
* Sensory services
* Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
