One of my favorite movies growing up in the 80's was Splash with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah.  Ever since then I have been drawing mermaids. They are normally portrayed as blonde or redheads and as cacasion. I see my mermaids as Polinisian pinup's. The sailor was clearly inspired by my love Jean Paul Gaultier and his famous striped uniforms.
