I really believe animation can bring people together, no matter their ages. I have seen pensioners light up as if they were children on seeing their little clay characters move across the screen. I've also witnessed children build their confidence through embodying their newly created characters.
At its core stop motion animation sessions are so much fun and easily accessible for all levels of creativity.
Not to mention the end result is often surprising and satisfying!
